Happy Birthday Michael Deagan

Today is Deagan's 4th birthday. I can hardly believe it. These 4 years have flown by. I feel so old. It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming our tiny baby boy into this world. Deagan came six weeks early. It was very unexpected... one minute I was at home on the couch the next I was in the hospital being told it was time. They did everything to try and stop him, but nothing worked. He was ready, whether we were or not. They flew me to the valley. We were so scared, praying that our little boy would be ok. And that is where he was delivered. I was on so much medication, and so tired it was all a blur. I can remember bits and pieces. But not much. I wish I could remember every detail. I was also in shock. Being only 18 and thinking I still had 6 weeks to prepare... not really the case. But once he was here it was like everything was calm and all my worries went away. It was amazing how natural it all felt. Like I knew what I was doing, even though I had NO idea. He was beautiful. And so tiny. Only 4 lbs. 2 oz. I couldn't believe that he was here and that he was ours. It was so amazing. He was perfect, even at 34 weeks. There was nothing wrong with him. We were only there for a few days and then they sent us home. He was only 3 lbs. 14 oz by then. So tiny. But I don't remember him being so tiny. To me he was a normal baby.

And our lives have been changed ever since... Deagan is definitely our little firecracker. He is FULL of energy and NEVER stops. From the second he wakes up in the morning until he closes his eyes at night he is going 100 mph. He is the most stubborn little boy I have ever met... which both Dev and I are to blame. We ourselves can be pretty stubborn. Him more than me of course. He is so intelligent and full of questions. He wants to know everything about everything and will keep asking until you give him an answer... and it has to be one that sounds good to him. He is hilarious, and always has us rolling. He is pretty shy until he gets to know you, then you can't get him to be quiet. He is a wonderful big brother and loves taking care of Treyden and teaching him new things. He can be so sweet when he really wants to be... saying things like, "Mom you are beautiful." "Mom, I love your face." and "Mom, I love you the very mostest." He is so helpful when I need him to be. He makes me feel a hundred different emotions everyday. Good and bad, but I still love him. How can I not? Look at that handsome face... And that smile...

He LOVES LOVES LOVES trucks. Especially Monster Trucks. He is fascinated by them. He is definitely all boy. He would play in the water and mud all day if I would let him. If he sees a puddle he has to jump in it. No matter what. We try really hard to avoid all areas that might have puddles. Haha. I asked him what some other things were that he loved and this is what he said... He loves movies, books, milk and cookies, playing trucks with Treyden and showing him cool tricks. He loves Zoe, Daddy, Tradey, Mommy, Grammy, Dudey, Joshua, Dane, Riley, Nanny, Brazis, and he went on to name everyone else in the family... not even kidding. And his 2 crabs... Crabby Patty and Daddy Crab. And his fish... Mickey, Minnie and Mr. Sucker Fish. And thats all.

Oh yeah, and Heavenly Father and Jesus and Sister Bleak (his sunbeams teacher.)

See told ya he could be sweet....

Dear Deagan-

We love you so much. You are such a fun little boy, so full of life and energy. You definitely keep things exciting around here. You are hilarious and always know how to make everyone feel better. We are so grateful to have you in our lives. We hope you have a good birthday. We love you.

By the way, Dev had a birthday on Sunday but he doesn't like me to make a big deal out of it so I decided not to do a big post. But, I had to say something... Babe, I love you so much. You work so hard to provide for our family and you never complain. You are such a wonderful father and husband. We are lucky to have you. Hope you had a good birthday :)

Handsome Boys.

We got the boys these ties for Christmas... and they look pretty stinkin' adorable in them if I do say so myself...

Treyden's looks a little big, it is supposed to be 6-12 mo. size... oh well, he will grow into it.

Deagan is a big fan of his because he says he looks just like Daddy. Anyway, just thought I would brag a little more about my handsome boys :)
