{2008} a year in review

2008 was a good year for us. I cannot believe it is already over, time is flying these days. We made a lot of big accomplishments. We bought our first house in April, which we absolutely love. We have already made some great memories here and are looking forward to lots more. It is a small house but it is perfect for our small family... there are still some improvements to be made but we are making them slowly. We are very proud of our first home. Devin also got his apprenticeship this year and I couldn't be more proud of him. He has worked so hard and is a great provider for our family. I am so very grateful for the job that he has, especially during scary times like these. We also learned that we would be expecting another baby boy in February and we cannot wait for him to be here! February is coming quick, but we are couldn't be more excited. I still cannot imagine having two little boys, it is going to be exhausting but so much fun. Dev and I are ready... ready as we can be anyway! It was a great year and we did some really exciting things, there were a few things we didn't get done that we really wanted to so hopefully we can get them done this year! We hope you all have a fantastic New Year...and we love you!

Let's see what good things 2009 brings...

Bye Bye Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year. We went up to Snowflake Tuesday night and stayed until Sunday. The drive up was beautiful, there was snow almost the whole way.

Christmas Eve night we did things at Grandma and Grandad's like we do every year and then headed over to Dev's parents to open things there. Deagan was extremely spoiled, as he is every year for Christmas being the first and only grandchild! Dev and I also did pretty dang good this year. He surprised me and got me a DYSON! A pink dyson even! I was so shocked, I did not see it coming. I also got a super nice carpet cleaner from Mike and Melissa and tons of other stuff. I actually was able to surprise Dev this year with everything I got him, that never happens... he always figures it out one way or another, so that was nice.

We did things Christmas day with my mom and my little brother. We opened presents and then she cooked us a DELICIOUS dinner. Dev got Rock Band II from my mom and I, so we played that for awhile... funnest game ever! I was only brave enough to play the guitar, but I am going to practice up on my drumming and singing skills while Dev is at work so I can blow him away! Haha. So, my brother and I took turns playing the guitar, Dev rocked on the drums and my mom sang. Fun night. We also got Grandma Sherry to play the drums at our adult dinner Friday night, it was so funny. I wish I had pics.

So, Christmas went just as fast as it came... just like it always does. It was great spending time with everyone, eating tons of yummy food and playing lots of cards! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Little Update

Well, here it is the latest prego pic. at 30 weeks. I am gettin' big and feelin' huge!

I am definitely bigger this time than I was with Deagan. I wasn't this big when I had him, and that was at 35 weeks! I keep tellin' myself that that is how it is supposed to be... it is normal to be bigger with the second than with the first... right?! Oh well, I don't care how big I get just as long our little boy is healthy. I cannot believe I am already 30 weeks, it kind of freaks me out how quickly we got here. If this baby is like Deagan than we only have five more weeks left! But I am hoping things will go differently this time around and he will decide to stay in a little longer. I go to the Dr. every two weeks now and it amazes me how fast two weeks can go by... Time is flyin' these days. Christmas is only two weeks away! When did that happen? Haha. For the most part all my shopping is done, I have a few more things left and ALL my wrapping left to do. I haven't even started that. We still have to put up our tree! We haven't been home long enough to do anything. Thankfully this is Dev's last week and we can finally be at home together as our little, normal family again. We are all ready. Deagan has missed his daddy.

It has been nice being able to spend so much time with my mom and everyone here in Snowflake though. Deagan has enjoyed seeing everyone, he wont know what to do with himself when it is just him and I all day again. I have a hard time keeping him entertained these days. He is definitely a busy busy boy. It actually snowed here this week... I guess all my hopin' and prayin' payed off! Him and Zoe loved playin' in the snow, and as cold as it was they could have been out in it all day if I would have let em'.

Last weekend was so fun. It was so nice to have Dev and his dad take Deagan for the day while Riley, Melissa and I had a girls day. We spent the morning doing some Christmas shopping, had lunch in the mall, shopped some more then met up with Grandma Sherry and Jolene and went to dinner. We went to The Cheesecake Factory. YUM! It is my favorite place to eat at the moment. They have the best food, and of course the best cheesecake. Too bad I had a bad case of heartburn and couldn't enjoy my dinner and dessert as much as I would have liked... After dinner we headed over to Cabelas for a few things and then went to the concert. Celine Dion is amazing! She is one talented lady. There were so many people there, they nearly had jobing.com full. She had the comedian Gordie Brown open for her, he was hilarious. It's been awhile since I have laughed that hard.

I don't think we are doing Christmas cards this year... not really in the mood, and to be quite honest we just don't have the time. We hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday. We love you and Merry Christmas!

Let the christmas songs begin...

I love love love Christmas songs! They make the holiday season feel more complete. There is nothing like sittin under a warm blanket, sippin' hot chocolate and listenin' to some Christmas tunes. It is even better when there is some snow fallin' outside! We don't get snow where we live, but since most of my time has been spent in Snowflake lately I have been hopin' and prayin' for just a little snow... :) I hate when it is freezing cold outside and there is no snow, I hate the cold so if I have to suffer through it there might as well be some snow. Am I right? I cannot believe how quickly Christmas is sneakin' up on us. Last year at this time I had my Christmas shopping done and my gifts wrapped. So not the case this year, haha. I have hardly done any shopping and there are only what 20 more days!? Well, hopefully I will get most of, if not all of it done this weekend. Deagan and I are headed down to the valley today with Dev's parents. Melissa, Riley and I are going to see Celine Dion Saturday night! I am sooo excited! I got my tickets to this thing for Christmas last year so it has been a long time comin! I am most excited for the girls day we are having all day Sat. Dev and Mike are in charge of Deagan ALL day! Woo Hoo! I need a little break, and Deagan needs some quality time with his daddy. It feels like he has been gone forever, and when we thought we were nearing the end they went and added another week to his schooling!? Ugh, not happy. But, only one more week after this one! I think we can make it :)Well, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Dev's Excitement Last Week

Last week was a pretty good week for Dev, his class finally got out of their training yard where they have been cooped up for five and a half weeks. They got to go wreck out a 69 kv line with a 12 kv underbuild for systems. (Yes, Dev told me what to say, I have no clue what any of that means. I just know it is dangerous and I don't want anything to do with it!) They also learned how to climb the high voltage towers... he got some really cool pics, although I think he should have been holding on for dear life instead of snapping photos, but whatever.
Dev working with Catlett on a 65 ft. wood pole... looks pretty high right?! Psh. That's nothing...

Now THAT is high
Dev's apprentice class...
This one was the biggest of the two towers, the 500 kv line. It was 160-170 ft.

Looking straight down the 230 kv Kachina Tower, 120 ft. all the way down...

Look no hands!?
Dev and Todd... what the hell were they thinking?! It's only 160 ft. fall, no biggie.
So, he survived last week, now only two more weeks after this one to go! Woo Hoo! We are ready for this all to be over.

Date Night

Riley watched Deagan for us and Dev and I went on our much needed date night Friday night. The evening started out with dinner at Outback. I had a yummy steak and Dev had shrimp. It was delish. After dinner we headed to the Carrie Underwood concert... which we were both pretty excited for, Dev might have been a little more excited than I :) Haha. He is quite a big fan of hers, which guy isn't?? She's freakin gorgeous.

Little Big Town opened for her, and we only knew a couple of their songs but they were really good. Carrie Underwood was awesome though, she is so talented. It was nice to spend some time with Dev just him and I, the night definitely went by too fast though. After the concert we hurried home to see Deagy, funny how anxious you are to get away from them for awhile and then the whole time you are away they are all you talk about and think about... it was pretty late so we knew he would probably be asleep, which he was, him and Riley were both crashed out in the front room. They had a fun night swimming and watching cartoons. Thanks Riley for watching him for us, we owe ya!

Early Poll Close

Alright I know there are still 12 days left to vote on our baby name poll, but with the current results being 24 to 8 I would say the message is clear... we should definitely switch things up. Haha. It was never actually our intention to have all D names, we just liked Deagan and it happened to start with a D. I was just curious to see what everyone thought. So, thanks to all those who voted... 32 votes. Wow I had no idea 32 people read our blog, maybe I should be a little more on top of things and be better about my posting... sorry. The only time I can post though is when we are staying with someone who has the internet, which is why I thought it would be a good idea to take advantage while I had the chance and get a post up. So, we have come up with a few names, we still haven't decided on one yet and we are still debating whether we are gonna tell anyone when we do think of one or just keep it a surprise :) We will see though, neither Dev or I are very good at keeping surprises. It is down to three names, all of which I love... one happens to start with a D. Dev is not crazy about any of them, of course. He only likes the names he thinks of himself. He got to pick Deagan though so I am thinkin' this time around should be my turn! Aren't people supposed to agree on a name?! Haha. I keep hoping he will come around and decide he really likes one of them though. So, I guess you could say we are still undecided. Deagan's name came to us so easily, we are having a hard time with this one though... just waiting for the perfect name for him I guess. Maybe we will have to see his cute little face before we can decide. We are getting so excited for the day to come, we can't wait to see who he is going to look like. It is hard to imagine him looking any different then Deagan, guess we will find out soon enough... but not too soon! Deagan was almost six weeks early and that was so scary, we were definitely not prepared for that but he was so healthy and so perfect, everything worked out just fine, we are so grateful. We are better prepared this time around in case it happens again though, and as much as we would love to meet him we hope this little guy stays in longer than his older brother.

It's been awhile...

Since my last post Deagan and I spent a week at home alone and survived. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It was actually kind of nice, we sure missed Dev a lot though. It has been hard on Deagan especially not getting to see his daddy all week. Zoe misses him a lot too, he is her best friend. I catch her snuggled up in our closet laying on his shoes all the time, goofy dog. Last week Deagan and I drove up to Snowflake cuz I had a hunt that started Friday. Dev had school Friday morning so he wasn't able to go out with me, so it was just me and Mike! We saw some good bucks but never had an opportunity to shoot. Later that night we took Deagan to their ward Trunk or Treat which he lasted all of about ten minutes at. We spent the whole time inside playing games and by the time we went out to do some trunk or treating he was done... pretty much how every Halloween has gone so far. Hopefully next year he will be more into it. He made the cutest little puppy dog though, I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pictures, dangit! Maybe I can convince him to dress up in it again and snap some real quick... we'll see, it was hard enough to get him in the first time. So, the rest of the weekend was spend trying to kill me a buck... no luck. Maybe I should have stayed there all week instead of giving up but I just couldn't motivate myself enough. Haha. I really do enjoy hunting, it's not so bad once a year, haha I would much rather sleep in and spend my mornings in a nice warm house but once a year isn't so bad :) No, I like it cuz Dev loves it and I like to be able to do things with him that he loves, it's just not the same when he isn't there. I guess that's why I gave up so easy this year, and cuz I am well... pregnant! I just don't have the energy. Last year doesn't help either... my first hunt ever and I killed on the first morning, so easy. I didn't know you had to spend weeks doing it! It doesn't bother me any that I didn't get anything, Dev on the other hand is heartbroken. Oh well, there is always next time.

Dev headed back down to the valley Sunday night and Deagy and I went home Monday to do some laundry and pay a few bills. We came down to the valley yesterday and picked Dev up from school. Last night we went to Peter Piper for dinner which Deagy loved. He has been askin to go back all morning... Dev and I are going to the Carrie Underwood concert Friday night which I am so excited for. It will be nice to have a little date night with my hubby, it's been awhile. Sweet Aunt Riley offered to babysitt Deagan so that will be nice. As for the rest of the week, I am not sure what our plans are... maybe a little shopping :)

Just some random pics....

It has been awhile since I have put pics on the blog so I thought I would put a few on...

Here is a prego pic at 20 weeks...
Cheeto face

Deagan and I made pumpkin cookies a couple of weeks ago... he was so helpful... here he is eating some of the dough.
Showing of his work...

Last night we carved a pumpkin... well Dev did, my job was to transfer the pattern and clean the pumpkin out. Deagan played in all the seeds and insides of the pumpkin, he informed us he was making us macaroni and cheese and cookies with it... YUM!
It's a little monster in case you can't tell, it looks better when it is all lit up in the dark, my camera wasn't cooperating though.

So, what else have we been up to? Well... Dev was in the valley all last week for schooling and he still has another seven weeks down there. Thank goodness he has a sweet sister who lets him stay with her and feeds him every night. Thanks Riley! She may never offer to let us stay with her again after this is all over and done with. Haha. Deagan and I spent last week in Snowflake with my mom, and she brought us home for the weekend so we could see Dev for a couple days before he has to head back down. So, this week Deagan and I are going to try and stay home all week... I haven't been by myself for more than a night before so we will see how it goes! I am such a wuss. This is how our lives are going to be for the next four years though so I better just get used to it! It is going to be a long week, I have no idea what we are going to do... wish us luck :)

Baby Update

Guess what we're having??

A BOY!! A little baby brother for Deagy, we couldn't be more excited. Dev is so proud of himself. Haha. I was actually really surprised when the Dr. told us it was another boy, I thought for sure it was going to be a girl because of how different my pregnancy has been this time around and how persistent Deagan has been with telling us he was going to have a baby sister. We are very excited and anxious to meet our new little guy and to see the two of our boys together.

The Dr. said everything looks good, the baby is healthy and I am healthy. I am finally gaining weight and I am actually looking pregnant and not like I am bloated all the time! I can feel the baby move which is always amazing. There is nothing that can compare to feeling your little miracle moving inside you. He moves quite a bit now but nothing like Deagan, he was constantly moving. I can remember when we went for our first ultrasound and he was doing flips and going crazy... he hasn't changed. So, I am thinking maybe since this baby doesn't move around as much it means he will be a little calmer. Haha. Dev and I would definitely have our hands full with another little Deagan running around. I am sure we could handle it though.

Ever since I found out what we are having I have been planning, planning, planning. I am driving Dev crazy. I already have furniture, bedding and paint colors picked out for the boys' room. I have been making lists... things that need to be done before the baby arrives, things we need to buy, etc. I am definitely a list girl, I have lists for EVERYTHING... rarely does anything ever get done on them but it is just the idea that I am writing it all down that makes me feel better :) So, I am definitely in nesting mode. I am feeling so much better and I have a lot more energy and motivation to get things done. This is when the pregnancy starts getting fun! 21 weeks down, 19 more to go! Bring it on.

Alright so I know I am a total slacker and have not posted in ages. Our computer is still not in working condition and I keep thinking we are just going to get a new one but it hasn't happened so it's been hard to keep up with the blog. I will do my best to sum up what we have been doing the past few months without being too boring. I don't have any pictures though so I apologize... maybe next time around :) First of all Dev is now officially an Apprentice for APS. Woo Hoo! I am so proud of him. He has been working so hard and has gotten some really awesome opportunities working with the Cottonwood dock. Now he has four more years before he tops out, and if it's anything like the last year and a half it will fly... for me anyway :) I am so grateful for the job he has and that he loves it as much as he does. We are truly blessed. As a congratulatory gift to himself Dev bought himself a new truck. A Chevy Duramax. He is very proud of his new truck, as he should be, he definitely deserves it. I am looking forward to what his gift is going to be for topping out... Deagan is also a big fan of the new truck, he is constantly asking for rides in "Daddy's Duramax". He can pretty much say everything these days. He is full of questions and I am answering them all day long. He is such a smart little boy and forgets nothing, sometimes it is scary. He is getting big and becoming more and more independent. He is starting to like to do things himself now and gets upset when we try and help him. We are so excited for the day that he becomes a big brother. We know he is going to be fantastic at it. It will be interesting to see how he acts when he has to share the spotlight, but once he is used to the idea he will be perfectly fine with it... and knowing Deagan he will do much better than we think, he always seems to find some way to surprise us.

The pregnancy is going really well. I was sicker than a dog for a solid four months but I am doing much better now. Food finally looks good again and I am having no problem at all making up for lost time... I may be regretting this soon, it makes me feel better to know that I am eating for two though :) No strange cravings, just anything and everything. Haha. I cannot believe how different my pregnancy has been this time around. Surprisingly though it is going by really fast and I know February will be here before we know it. We already find out what we are having the 29th of this month! We are so excited we can hardly stand it... I am ready to start shopping and picking out a name. I will do my best to inform you all of what it is as soon as we find out.

So, we havent been up to much. Just living life and taking each day as it comes. Hopefully my future posts wont be so few and far between. I will do my best with what I have :) We love you all and hope you are doing well.

Little Update

I went to the Dr. last Monday and found out that we are due February 19. We are super excited and hoping it goes by fast! Especially these first three months, I have been way sicker this time around then I was with Deagan. I keep on hoping this means we are having a girl :) Although, I would be thrilled to have either, a girl would be awesome. Deagan has been very excited as well... I am not really sure he actually knows what is going on, but he talks about the baby in Mommy's tummy a lot as if he knows. He also insists he is getting a baby sister which also makes me excited. I feel like if he says its a girl, than it definitely has to be a girl. Haha... I obviously can't wait for the day when we find out what we're having. So, until then here I will be... waiting... patiently, sort of :)

So, this last weekend was the Hancock/Stratton reunion. We went camping and it was so much fun. The weather wasn't the warmest, but it was still great. It was so nice to escape this heat! It sprinkled a little during the days and we got a really good rain one night so of course there was lots of mud for Deagan to play in... which he loved. Thankfully I packed LOTS of clothes for him... and he used EVERYthing I brought for him. He was in heaven; outside all day, four wheelers everywhere, trucks, bikes and lots of kids to play with. He was worn out by the time Sunday came. We played lots of cards and ate lots of yummy food... which thankfully I was able to eat most of since I was feeling pretty good. It was so nice to see everyone and catch up on everything. Can't wait for next year :)

p.s.
I will post pics later

A Fun Weekend and Some Big News!!!

Over the weekend us and the Fish family drove up by Knoll Lake and spent the day. We grilled some hot dogs and just relaxed. We all had a good time, the boys especially. They were so dirty. It was so nice to let them run wild and not have to worry. It has been so hot in Camp Verde lately it was great to get away and spend the day outside. Deagan went through three pairs of clothes in one day, I can only imagine how the reunion is going to be... haha. Deagan and I got Devin and new video camera for Father's Day so he got to use it out there. He was pretty excited.

Deagan, five minutes after we were there... not even kidding.
Gosh, he looks so old in this picture... makes me so sad.

Deagan and Castin taking a little break and drinkin' some apple juice.

Our Family :)

Deagan and Castin on the swing that Handy Man Greg built. They loved it.

Now for the big announcement... Deagan if you would do the honors...

Yep, that's right a Big Brother. Dev and I found out Sunday that we were going to have another baby! We are so excited. Dev said that the new video camera we gave him doesn't compare to news like that. We told Deagan and I don't think he really understands but whenever we ask him if he wants a brother or sister he says he wants a baby sister... so sweet. I know he is going to be great big brother and it will be so good for him. I don't go to the doctor until July so we don't know the due date or anything like that, but I will definitely let everyone know as soon as I find out!

Swimming Lessons

Last week Deagan started swimming lessons. He has been doing so good and having so much fun. Castin and Tanner are doing it also so that has made it even more fun for him. This is his last week though so we are pretty bummed about that. It has been so nice to have something for him to do outside. It has been so hot here lately he hasn't been able to play outside as much... which has made life hard for him and I... haha... being inside all day with a two year old can be rough. Especially when you have no AC! Yes, you heard it right no AC. Ours has been broken for a few days now and it has been horrible! Thank goodness we have the Fish family. They have been nice enough to let Deagan and I spend the day at their house until Dev gets home in the evening and it is a little cooler. The AC is supposed to be fixed tomorrow so hopefully we will be able to get our of their hair soon! Needless to say there has been a lot of ice cream and otter pops eaten in the last few days. Deagan is lovin' it... Dev, Zoe and I on the other hand are dieing! Let's hope tomorrow comes fast.

Here are some random pictures of Deagy boy.

Here he is on the first day of swimming lessons, decked out in his swimming gear. What a stud!
Guitar Hero anyone?

PICTURES!

So, we have been in our house for almost two months now and have made some progress in the work that needs to be done. We still have A LOT to do though. Here is what we have done so far... painted, extended our patio, and installed new flooring (BIG thanks to Uncle Pat and Granddad :) ) Things we still need to get done are fence in our backyard, plant some grass, put vinyl fence around front yard, pull some weeds... we have A TON!... pretty much all the landscaping since we have no landscaping... install new carpet, the list is pretty much never ending. We are getting there though. We love our new home and are so excited for all the new memories we will be making here. It is the perfect size for us. It has three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. Our yard is huge, and we love the neighborhood we are in. I didn't take any pictures of the bedrooms because they are not painted, or decorated cute yet so when I get them done I will be sure and post pics. We have a guest room so if anyone wants to come and visit feel free, we would love to have you!

Home Sweet Home... ignore the weeds :) We're working on them.

Our entry way.
Notice the new flooring... we love it, so much better than what we had before!

The Kitchen

Dining Area

Family Room

Our entertainment center.

Guest Bathroom.
Notice the new, pretty tile :) Looks good eh?

My favorite new things! Our brand new washer and dryer! I love them and Devin really loves them because our laundry is always done now since I love using them... we'll see how long that lasts... haha. Thanks Lorayne for getting us such a good deal! She also got us a good deal on our new fridge :) We love it too.

So there it is... sorry it took so long to get pictures up. Things have been crazy, and there is no sign of them slowing down either.

We're Back!

Holy cow! Feels like forever! I have been lost without our blog... I didn't know what was going on in anyone's lives... haha. We have been so busy though, having no computer has been a good thing. I have been able to get a lot of work done that's for sure! We still have not gotten a new computer, but my mom had an extra one and was kind enough to let us borrow it for awhile. Thanks mom! So, anyway... the biggest news! We got our house FINALLY! We didn't think the day would ever come, everytime things were going good something would come up and slow things down. We thought for sure we would be living in a Motel there for awhile when our landlord informed us that we had to be out by the first of the month because she already had people moving in... STRESSFUL! Haha. Thankfully everything worked out perfectly just as everyone kept telling us it would. Thanks for everyones help getting us moved, we couldn't have done it without you! We promise this is the last time for awhile! It seems like that is all we have been doing lately, we have moved three times in the last couple of years and I am sick of it! We will be here for awhile though :) So, we have been in our new home now for about three weeks. We are loving it! We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but it is a wonderful feeling knowing we will be doing it for ourselves and not for someone else. I am so proud of our recent accomplishments. I am so grateful for the wonderful job that Dev has and the great opportunities it has presented us. I am grateful that he loves what he is doing and that he is excited to go to work everyday. Makes things easier and all of us happier! We are loving it here in Camp Verde. Who would have thought that we would enjoy living somewhere smaller than Snowflake?! Crazy right? I know. It is definitely different. There are only two wards here and I think both of them combined is probably smaller than one ward in Snowflake. We like it though. There are a lot of young couples in our ward and a lot of little kids. Everyone has been so nice and always willing to lend a hand when we need one. We have met a lot of new people and have went to a couple of family home evenings with some couples in our neighborhood. It has definitely made things easier for us and made us feel much more comfortable. We have missed our Fishes though! They have been in Jo City since before we moved so we haven't had the chance to celebrate with them... hint hint :) They should be home soon though, we hope! Another big announcement we have is that Deagan is finally in his own bed! Yes, I know I have posted about this before but this time it's for real! He has slept in his OWN bed everynight since we have lived here and he is doing so awesome. I feel bad now for ever thinking he couldn't do it. I am realizing it was me who had the problem. The first night we were here I was constantly getting up and checking on him, I have since bought some baby monitors. I still check on him two or three times during the night though... hopefully I will get over that! We are so proud of him. We let him choose his own room, which was not hard for him since one of the rooms still had tractors on the wall... he was quick to inform us that this was Deagy's bedroom! He has also informed us that the room next to his is Zoe's bedroom. Haha. He is growing up so quick and talking our ears off. I can't believe some of the things he comes up with. He has also taken a recent interest to going potty on the toilet... he hasn't gone yet but he wants to so bad! Haha. He is always letting Dev and I know when he needs to go so we hurry up and put him on there, but nothing ever happens. We could sit there all day. I don't know if he gets shy or what the deal is... We are just happy that he is even wanting to try. So, anyway that is what we have been up to... it's been fun. We have been busy, and everyone keeps telling us that we will always have something to do now that we have a house. Sounds good for now! I will post pictures soon, I promise. It's good to be back! We've missed you.

Keeping Up With the Madness

K, so in case anyone was wondering if we have fallen of the face of the Earth... no we haven't. Our computer has been broken for a couple of weeks now and I feel so lost! Haha. Not that I would have had much time to be on it anyway... since oh we got a house!!! Yep, Dev and I are officially home owners. We are so excited and relieved that the process is finally over! It has been painful and everything that could go wrong has... not kidding! So, we have been busy moving and all that fun stuff. We have not even had a chance to sit down and breath. It has been crazy aroud here and I am VERY ready for it all to calm down and for things to get back to normal. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us move, you were all such a big help. There is no way we could have done it without you! It was great seeing you all and we miss you already! I will definitely get pictures posted as soon as I can. I am not sure when we will be getting a new computer so until then... I hope you are all doing well.

He's Back!!!

Finally our happy, loud, crazy and wild little boy is back! It's about time! We've missed you. It's been way too quiet around here. We are so happy you are feeling like your old self again. I never thought there would come a time when I preferred all your messes and wild rampades over a nice clean house and the silence.

Biggest Loser Finale!

Woo Hoo! Yay Ali! The first ever female winner of The Biggest Loser. She lost 112 lbs. and looks awesome. I loved this season of The Biggest Loser, it was full of surprises and I loved that they played it in couples. Everyone did amazing... it is so crazy to see all of their before and after shots. What inspirations!
Before (on the left)
After.
Unbelievable!

It's A Special Day

Today is mine and Devin's second anniversary! Woo Hoo! With all the craziness going on around here, we nearly forgot! No big plans for the evening, we will probably just order some dinner from Su Casa and call it a night. Which is fine with me, I would much rather stay home and have a nice dinner than take Deagan out and fight with him the whole time. I must admit though he has been doing much better about going out to dinner.
These two years have been amazing! I feel so lucky to be married to Dev. He is my best friend. We have learned so much together and have accomplished so much. I am so proud of where we are today and the things we have done. We are setting more and more goals for ourselves and I know that together we will accomplish them all. These years have flown by. It is so crazy, it feels like just yesterday. We have had so much fun together and I am looking forward to many many many more fun and amazing years. I love you Dev! Happy Anniversary.

Happy Monday!

Deagan was not feeling any better this morning when he woke up so the first thing I did was call his pediatrician and made him an appointment. He has had a cold since Wednesday, but it has gotten worse these past few days. So, first thing we got to do this morning was head over to the Dr. which he is normally pretty excited for, crazy I know... she has a lot of cool toys in her office, and a big bus with a steering wheel so of course he doesn't mind going there at all. Today was not his day though, we get there and there is a little girl sitting in "his" seat playing with the steering wheel which immediately started the tears. Then we walk by the bucket of suckers on our way back to see the Dr. and oh my goodness... he was not happy that we walked by and didn't grab one. He cried pretty much the whole time we were there. That just goes to show how bad he was feeling, he has been so good about going to the Dr lately, he never cries. Come to find out he has double ear infections... poor baby, I would be crying too! We got him some meds so hopefully he will start feeling better soon. How has your day been so far?

Busy, Busy, Busy, but Still Having a Good Time

It has been a busy week in the Hancock household and there is no sign of it slowing down anytime soon. Besides my normal household chores I had a sick kid, I was sick myself, Zoe had a vet appointment, and Dev was working out of town and getting home late we started packing this week! Which as most of you know is NO fun... but it has to be done. Our house is set to close on the 23rd so we have got to get our butts in gear! We have a lot to get done before than. Our house is slowly starting to feel more like a house and less like a home, all the things that once gave it that "homey" feeling have now come off the walls and shelves and into boxes. Dev is not to thrilled by the way, with the amount of holes I did put into the walls... he spent most of Friday puttying up my mess. I informed him that he is more than welcome to do all the hammering and hanging up in the next house :) We are decluttering and throwing away even more than we did in the last move... how is it that we accumulate so much stuff in so little time? I am sure you can all relate. Blows my mind! So, anyway besides packing and taking care all of that fun moving stuff here is what we have been up to...

Last weekend Deagan and I drove up to Snowflake. I had to take my mom's Tahoe back so we headed up the mountain Friday morning. Dev stayed behind because he had to work and he had made plans with Greg to go paragliding (his newest hobby). Amanda and Jessie and their families were coming up for the weekend as well so we made plans to do some more crafts. Dev surprised us and showed up Saturday morning. It was a very nice surprise and Deagan was happy to see his Daddy. The next day we had Sunday dinner and Dev got a few good games of woofle ball in and headed back down the mountain. Deagan and I stayed behind so I could finish my crafts. Since Dane had a game in Payson on Tuesday we were going to catch a ride with Mike and Melissa to that and Dev would meet us there. On Monday, Mike had the backhoe down at his house and called to see if Deagan wanted to ride in it... of course I had to take him down so he could ride in it. He was so excited to ride in the tractor and has been talking about it ever since.
He looks so tiny in that big ol' piece of equipment!

His favorite place in the world... behind the wheel!

I only got to finish one of my crafts so I will have to post some pics of the other one later. I love love love doing crafts and I am so grateful to Jolene for getting everything together for us, she's awesome. Grandad is awesome too, I have decided that he can make pretty much anything! Our family picture will go in the middle of the frame.

I made these last week and thought they turned out pretty cute so I thought I would share.

It was great to see everyone again, and we hope to be seeing you all soon. Thanks Mom and Alan for letting us stay with you :) We love you all.

We got home Tuesday night and Deagan and Zoe were so excited to be home, they were bouncing off the walls. I was excited too, it is always nice to come home and sleep in my own bed. But, I knew that I had a busy week ahead of me, which I was not looking forward to. Deagan and I woke up the next morning sick and hardly got out of bed all day Wednesday, so that slowed things down even more. I felt better the next day, but Deagan is still fighting it off. Poor little guy, I hate seeing him sick. I much prefer the happy, loud Deagan that is constantly making messes to the sad, mopey, red cheeked Deagan who doesn't want to do anything but lay in bed all day and watch Cars. Although, it has been nice to cuddle with him these past few days. Hopefully he will start feeling better soon. The rest of our week consisted of cleaning things out, packing, running errands, cleaning, cleaning and CLEANING! And I think that is how things are going to be for awhile around here... I will post if anything fun does happen to occur though :)

We are definitely excited and ready to move into our very own new home. It will be so nice when the time finally does come. I have learned a lot during this long, and painful process and I am still learning a lot! It is not easy that is for sure, but I know it will be so worth it when it is finally all said and done. Meanwhile, I know everything will fall into place as it should and there is really nothing to stress over, but it is difficult not to when you have a list of about 17 things that need to be done within the next couple of weeks staring you in the face EVERYDAY! Haha. Anyway, I hope you all had a good weekend and have a fantastic week :) Here are some random pictures of Deagan that we have taken recently. I love taking picture of my baby boy, I want to capture every little fun memory of him.

Just For Fun...

I am not real sure just how accurate this thing actually is but I have always wondered if Deagan looks more like me or Dev... it is hard for me to tell. I would have thought he looked more like Dev though. Hm... interesting.

Dev's Exciting Week!

This week Dev got a great opportunity to work with the hotstick crew out of Flagstaff. They were working on the 230 kv structures, which are around 75 ft. tall, replacing poles and arms. The drive in was almost six hours so they had to be flown in and out by helicopter everyday. He took some really cool pictures and got some neat video. Deagan and I went to pick him up at the airport a few times and he thought it was so cool to see Daddy get out of the big "hepitoter." Dev has been getting to do some really cool things over here in Cottonwood. He loves his job and works so hard. I am so proud of him.

The helicopter coming in for a landing and taking off with a load of guys.
Some views from the air.

Pecks Lake and the Verde River with Kasner Mountain in the background.

Here are the guys replacing the top two arms.

Dev took this picture from the boom truck. It shows how high they have to be to change the arms.
