Our Fun Weekend

This weekend flew by... they usually always do. Two days of play is definitely not enough. We wanted to do something fun for Deagan. There isn't a whole lot to do for kids here in Camp Verde so we narrowed it down to going to Peter Piper Pizza in Prescott or camping. He couldn't decide which idea he liked better so... we did both :)

Friday night after Dev got off work we loaded up and headed to Prescott. Deagan could hardly wait to get his little hands on the steering wheel of one of those racing games. He had been talking about it ALL day. After about 20 minutes and 20 tokens later he decided he was hungry so we had some pizza and then went back to playing some games. He used up the rest of his tokens and we headed home. I think he had fun... what do you think?

So Happy. Look at that smile.

Treyden didn't know what to think.

Pizza anyone??

When we got home Riley was there waiting for us. She surprised us and decided she wanted to come hang out for the weekend. So we were all happy to see her and cute little puppy Tank. Saturday we packed up all our camping stuff and headed up the mountain to play.

Our Camp. I was laughing at Dev because he was being so picky about the tarp but I later apologized when we were all nice and dry under it watching the rain come down. Thanks again babe :)

Mr. Deagan himself.

Shooting the BB gun

Roasting Marshmallows... their stick was kinda short, it was a little hot.

Don't worry though, Deagan found his own, longer stick. Good job Deag.

Deagan, Treyden and Tank hangin' out in the back of the truck.

Laying in the back of the truck trying to stay dry and warm... Three adults, two kids and two puppies all in the back of the truck. It was a little crowded, but still fun.

Mommy and Treyden

Aunt Riley... she always looks so cute, even camping. Must be nice!

Brothers.

Little Treyden. The life of the party.

We all had a lot of fun. The food was good and the weather was nice... even the rain was enjoyable. Once it started to get dark we packed everything back up and headed home. Camping for the day is definitely the way to go. We were all ready for showers and bed. Thanks for coming Riley :)

And then it was church on Sunday... Didn't my boys look so handsome :)

Latest Coupon Sense Savings

Tuesday after Dev got off work we ran over to Fry's cuz I had some coupons to use before the sale ended and I was SO happy when I heard my savings. I spent $37.99 and saved $111.32!! That is my best yet.

Coupons have become my newest addiction. There are newspapers and grocery ads all over my house... There is rarely anything I buy anymore that I don't have a coupon for. It is amazing how much money they can save. I wish I would have started doing this a lot sooner!

4 months

I cannot believe that four months ago today, we brought our little Treyden home. It is crazy how quickly he is growing up. I guess time flies when you are busy, and busy we are. Our two little boys keep us going, going, going all day long. It has been an amazing four months. It was difficult at first learning how to do things with two kids, and some days it is still hard. But, we love it. Our boys mean the world to us. Deagan has had the hardest time out of all of us... he still has bad days but for the most part he is doing much better. He loves to help with Treyden any way he can, and he loves to rub his head and give him kisses. And every once in awhile when he thinks no one is listening he talks to Treyden about all the fun things they are gonna do... it is so sweet. I know once Treyden gets a little older and is not so "fragile" Deagan will be more excited about his little brother. They are going to be a mess together, I can see it already.

Treyden is such a sweet baby... always smiling and cooing. He loses his patience quick though when he is hungry... He is a lot bigger than Deagan was at this age, so we never have a problem with him fitting in clothes. I can remember everything being too big for Deagan, Treyden's problem is things being too small. He loves his big brother. Whenever Deagan is close he just stares at him and smiles... He is already sleeping through the night, and has been for about a month now. He really is such an easy baby... so far anyway :) He has been such a joy to have in our home. We love him so much.

Here are a few things about him...

He is...
Giggling
Smiling
Cooing

He...
Holds head up really well
Loves to be naked
Loves bathtime
Sleeps through the night
Wears 3-6 month clothing, and sometimes 6 months
Loves to be outside, just like Deagy
Loves to blow spit bubbles
Loves his blue blankie, everything is always ok as long as he has it
Loves his pacifier
Still has blue eyes, but it looks like they are starting change
Still hates tummy time, but does it anyway
Pinches with his toes
Can hold and play with toys
Loves his swing

We love you Treyden boy. Thank you for all the happiness and laughs you have brought into our home.

Random Pics and Memorial Day Weekend...

For the weekend we went up to Snowflake for Josh's graduation and for Grandma Sherry's Birthday :) A lot of Dev's family was up visiting from the valley so it was a nice treat to see everyone. It was pretty cold and wet while we were there, except of course on the day we left... Deagan didn't mind though he was out in it every chance he could get. He had way too much fun, and as always did not want to come home... It is always nice to be in Snowflake and to visit with our family. Sometimes it is hard to live away from them all, but we know it is good for us.

Here are some pics from Josh's big night :)

This was during the ceremony... Daddy and Treyden all bundled up.

Good job Josh, we are so proud of you and all that you accomplished... You worked so hard and it definitely shows. Good luck with everything :)

These pics are from a couple weekends ago. Dev, the boys and I went up to the mountains for the day and had a little picnic. It was so nice to get away from everything and just be together enjoying the quiet.

And of course we had to add a picture of Deagan and his new little buddy... Riley's puppy, Tank. He is so small, and so cute.

What Do You Do??

What do you do when you walk in on your three old who happens to be a boy... and he has a teddy bear under his shirt, held against his chest and he looks at you so innocently and says.... "Mom, my little baby is hungry. I have to feed him."

Daydreaming...

It is hot today... really hot so me and the boys are inside, like little hermits. We spend a lot of time inside these days... we are going crazy. I try to get Deagan to the park so he can play as often as I can, he loves to be outside... I wish I could just turn him lose in our own backyard though...

Oh how I wish we had a backyard full of this beautiful, lush grass. I can't wait to have a backyard where the boys can play... Little boys belong outside where they can play in the mud and get dirty. I long for the day when I can open the back door and let Deagan run wild. He needs a backyard with grass more than any of us.

A place to burn off some of that energy. A place for him to run through the sprinkler... and now that the days just keep getting hotter and hotter, we might all run through it with him. I can't wait to feel it on my bare feet and lay a blanket down and let Treyden roll around on it... I can't wait for a sandbox for Deagan to dig in and drive his trucks through... and a swingset with a slide... Ah, sounds magical. I have big plans :) Plans that take time. I am trying to be patient. And I know Dev is tired of me buggin him about it... he is doing the best he can and I know he wants it just as much as I do. And I know we will have it someday. But until then, I will keep daydreaming...

Camping with Dad

Last night Devin and Deagan went camping for Father and Sons. Deagan was excited about it all week... he was so ready to go when Dev got home yesterday. This is what he said before they left
"Bye mom, don't be sad... Treyden will be here. We will be back tomorrow."
Thanks Deag, you are always so thoughtful. Anyway, while the boys were away us girls (Molli, Cayla and I) made plans to have a girls night. We made a craft and just enjoyed our quiet evenings. I headed home so looking forward to a good night sleep, Treyden only wakes up one time during the night (YES!!) and already sleeps better than Deagan. Poor Deagan has never been a good sleeper. Hopefully he grows out of that soon. So, Treyden and I had a nice, QUIET night to ourselves but definitely missed our Daddy and Deagy Boy. They were home by about 10:30 this morning though. Dev said Deagan had a blast, I knew he would. He ran wild with all the other boys. Dev said they all had glow sticks last night so you could just see a bunch of glow sticks running around. And he said he slept so good. He woke up cold though and was ready to come home. So, they ate some yummy breakfast, compliments of Bishop and headed home. Deagan has been talking about it all since he got home... I am glad he got to spend some time with his Daddy. He needed it.
Dev got some really cute pictures of Treyden this morning... our little man is changing everyday, it is so sad. He is such a happy baby, he is so smiley and he has laughed a couple of times for us. ADORABLE! There is nothing sweeter than a babies laugh. He is three months old now and so much fun. Some of the faces he makes remind me so much of Deagan. He looks a lot like Deagan when he was a baby... the only differences are Treyden's hair is lighter and his skin is lighter and he is a lot bigger than Deagan was. Having two boys is so fun, we love em both so much!

Big Smiles...

Miss Zoe checkin him out. It took her awhile to come around, but now if he is where she can get to him she is right there. He still hasn't quite figured out what she is...

Gettin' mad.

Chocolate Ice Cream Anyone?

Nothin' beats a warm day and an ice cream cone...
Just ask Deagan, he will tell you.

Yum... I might have to go make me one now :)

Just a Couple More Things...

The other day while we were all outside our little neighbor boy Issac, who is about Deagan's age came over to visit... This was their conversation...
Deagan... "Hey, Your Dad has a Duramax like my Dad's."
Issac... "What is a Duramax?"
Deagan... "What?!"
Issac... "What is a Duramax?"
Deagan, so annoyed... "This is a Duramax"
And that was it... Deagan walked off without another word... he seriously acted like he was so offended by this boy... this boy who did not know what a Duramax was... I had to laugh. He takes his trucks and cars very seriously.
He got over it though, they made up today and rode bikes all afternoon. Thank goodness... he needs a friend in our neighborhood.

Meanwhile this little boy is getting bigger by the minute... he was lookin pretty handsome at church on Sunday.

Deagan's Tiny Obsession...

Now I know every little boy loves trucks, but I am pretty convinced that no boy loves trucks as much as Deagan. He is a little obsessed... well a lot obsessed. He loves ANYTHING that has wheels and will drive anything with a steering wheel, and that you will let him of course :) Even if it doesn't move, he will sit there for hours just turning the wheel. He has been this way for as long as I can remember. He will entertain himself for hours if he has a car that he can push around. He lines them all up in straight lines and then runs them over with his Monster Trucks... He is super smart too, he doesn't forget anything... he remembers what car everyone drives. He points out EVERY Duramax (Dev's truck), EVERY Pontiac (My car), EVERY Yukon (Melissa's car), EVERY Dodge (Mike's truck), and EVERY Sequoia (Grandma Sherry's car) that we pass, and he gets so excited when he sees one. If you have a flat tire, he can point that out to you, and help you fix it as well. The littlest things make him happy... a short drive around the block, sitting in the car turning the steering wheel, watching EVERY person that leaves our house drive off, pushing the button on the keys that makes the horn honk, driving through a car wash, seeing a red light turn green, pretty much anything and everything that has to do with cars. His favorite movie is Cars, his favorite song is "Life is a Highway" by Rascall Flatts... you should see the smile on his face when that comes on. Priceless. When he first meets someone usually the first thing he asks them is what kind of car they drive, where their car is or if he can see their keys... Normal? Probably not.

So, when I get frustrated after tripping over cars and trucks all day and I am exhausted from his millions of car questions I get over it because it makes him happy. And when he is happy I am happy.

P.S.
The picture does not do his collection justice...

Conversations in the car

Today I took Deagan for a "drive" cuz he was dieing to go somewhere... we just went around the neighborhood, and this was our conversation...

"Mom, Dad left his lunchbox in your car. We need to take it to him."

"No, Dad is in Sedona today."

"What?"

"Dad is in Sedona."

"A doughnut?"

"No, SEDONA"

"Why does he have a doughnut?"

"Deagan! Dad is working in SEDONA!"

"Sedona?"

"YES!"

"Oh. What did he drive there?"

"Probably his Duramax."

"No, I think he drove his bucket truck."

"You're probably right."

"Yeah, probably.... Can you roll my window down?"

And that was the end of it... haha... I was exhausted after that one.
