Like Father, Like Son

Dev has been going out calling fox lately and Deagan has been dying to go. So, today when Dev got home the two of them got their camoflauge on and headed out. Deagan was so excited, he loves spending time with his Daddy... especially when it involves driving in the Duramax and being outside. They weren't gone very long and I get a picture of this on my phone...

I didn't think they would actually kill one since you have be pretty quiet in order for them to come in... and Deagan being quiet, never happens! Dev said he sat there quietly though, waiting for a fox to come running in. He pushed the buttons on the call box when Dev told him to and sure enough one came in... Deagan spotted it and Dev shot it. They were both so excited.



This one is my favorite. Haha... it's a little heavy.


I asked him if he was sad and he said, "No I am not sad but the fox is."

36 Weeks

Well we are at 36 weeks now and still no baby. I have never been pregnant this long before and I am wondering how women go the full 40 weeks! I am so uncomfortable and tired. We are so anxious to meet our little boy, but so grateful for every week that passes and he stays put. The longer he lasts the better off he is. I guess since I went about 35 weeks with Deagan I thought I would hit 35 weeks and this baby would be here... not so much. I went to the Dr. yesterday and he said that the baby's head was down pretty far so I don't know how much longer we have but we are definitely ready for him to be here, as is everyone else! I know that he will come when the time is right though. Dev and I are just trying to enjoy every second we can as our little family of three because it is all about to change. The schedule that we have come to follow and become comfortable with is about to be turned upside down, but we are ready and excited for it. It is such a good feeling to feel so prepared and ready this time, with Deagan we had nothing ready and everything felt so chaotic. I hope things go smoothly this time and we make it home safely with our new baby boy. Then the chaos can begin!

We had my baby shower last Saturday and I got so much good stuff, this little boy is already so loved and so spoiled. Thank you so much to everyone who made it and we missed those who couldn't. Thank you Mom and Melissa for doing it for me, it was so nice.

35 weeks!

Well we made it to 35 weeks! Yay! I had an appointment yesterday and everything looks really good. The Dr. told us that from here on out we would be safe to deliver in Cottonwood, huge relief. Tomorrow we are headed to Snowflake for my baby shower so hopefully this little boy wont decide he is ready while we are up there! I don't feel like I am going into labor anytime soon though so I am not worried.

Here is Deagan, Zoe and I trying out my new rocking chair Dev and Deagan got me for my birthday. It is super comfy and will be so nice to have with the new baby. I really haven't gotten to sit in it much though, Deagan is quite fond of it and doesn't like sharing.

IT"S OFFICIAL!

It's official Deagan is 100% potty trained! Yay! We are so proud of him and he is especially proud of himself. He thinks he is the coolest kid on the block in his big boy underwear, and we don't let him think different! I had to snap a quick pic of him in them cuz they are so stinkin cute. Thanks for your time Deag, I know it was rough. It is hard to get him to sit still for five seconds to take a picture these days. Apparently he has much better things to do with his time.

I cannot believe our little boy will be three years old next month. Has it really already been that long? Where has the time gone? He is so full of life and energy and at a time when I have little to spare it can get kind of hard. If I had even an ounce of his energy I would be good to go. We wouldn't want him any other way though. He is so much fun and we love him so much. He definitely keeps us on our toes, we never know what he is going to say or do next. Deagan is the most amazing thing in our lives and it is hard to imagine that soon there will be another little boy in our life that we will love just as much. It has been really important to Dev and I that we spend as much time with Deagan as we can because soon his time with us will have to be shared. He will never be the only one again. It is going to be so good for him though and I am excited to see him with his baby brother. He is getting super excited and anxious for him to get here, he asks me everyday if he is ready to come out yet. His favorite day is Wednesday cuz that is always what day my dr. appointments are and he loves to hear the baby's heartbeat and watch him on the "little tv." He is going to be an amazing big brother and will definitely teach him all the tricks of the trade, I just can't wait to see what kind of trouble the two of them will be getting into.

One more thing I thought I might add... Deagan has informed me that my belly is getting pretty fatso and that I should let baby brother out, it is probably hard for him to sleep... I love how honest he is, even if it is brutal! Never a dull moment.

Business at the Hancock House

For the past three months it feels like life has been out of control. Dev was gone for nine weeks, Deagan and I were all over the state of Arizona during those nine weeks, and the holidays snuck up on us out of nowhere. Things are finally feeling like they are returning to normal... we are home, all three of us and until next weekend we are staying home! I really hope we are home a lot more often this year than we were last, especially with a new baby coming. It is really hard to stay home though when we have no family here in Camp Verde... I guess they will just have to head our way more often! HINT HINT! We actually did have some company last week and it was so nice to see everyone.

My mom and little brother followed us home the Sunday after Christmas to spend some time with us during their Christmas break. They stayed til Wednesday and it was soooo nice having them here. My mom helped a ton. We were able to get the boy’s room all painted, we got the crib set up, baby clothes washed and put away, and all the other fun baby stuff out of the garage and set up. It is finally starting to look like there is a baby coming around here! It is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders to have all of that done, I have been sitting around thinking about it for weeks but haven’t done anything! So, thanks you guys… I wish I could have been a little more help though. Here is a pic. of our fancy painting job...


Pretty good for a couple of girls who didn't know what they were doing! My mom did most of it, thanks mom! Oh and Braz had a hand in it too, thanks little brother. Deagy loves his new room.

We still have some work to do in their room, we need to get Deagan his new bed and I have some stuff to put on the walls. I also ordered a super cute vinyl sticker to go on their wall, but it hasn't come yet so once we get all that done I will post more pictures... It will look so cute once it all comes together, I am just happy to have this much done.


The rest of the week Dev and I were busy getting the house cleaned, laundry done and unpacking everything from the week before. Friday was Melissa’s birthday so she, Mike, Dane, Riley and her boyfriend Tyrell came to our house. Melissa really wanted to eat at Nic’s (the best place ever to eat) over in Cottonwood for her birthday dinner so it was nice being able to spend some time with them. It was the first time they had been to our house since we moved, so it was much overdue! Dev and Mike spent the weekend making plans for our big landscaping job hopefully happening this year! One of our many goals for this year... it will be so nice to have a backyard with grass for Deagan to run wild in this summer. There is a lot of work to be done so we will see.

Monday after all our company left I decided it would be the perfect time to get Deagan potty trained. Things have been so crazy, and we haven’t really been home so I have been putting it off for way too long. He is doing so awesome. I knew he would, he is so smart and super fast at picking things up. He hasn't worn a diaper all week. We are so proud of him. So, hopefully we can get a couple weeks of not having to change any diapers in! Haha.

The pregnancy is going really well, I have one more two week appointment left and I start going every week. We are getting a little nervous as we approach the 35 week mark though. That is when little Deagy decided to make his appearance, we are hoping and praying that this little guy decides to stay in longer though. We were so fortunate that Deagan was as healthy as he was. He didn’t have any problems whatsoever, he was just so tiny. It was still scary though... and it would be nice if I could deliver here and not have to rush to the valley again! We are doing a good job of setting things up the same as they were last time though. Deagan was born the day we had planned on having my baby shower, exactly seven minutes after it was supposed to be starting... so when is my baby shower this time? The 17th… So I will be how far along?? 35 weeks! Let’s hope I make it to this one! We didn’t really plan on it workin’ out like that, it just kind of did. Haha.

So, we are just busy getting things ready for our new baby boy… and preparing Deagan for the big changes headed our way. He has already made it clear that all of the baby’s stuff is his and there are few things that he is willing to share. It should be interesting to see how he really acts when his little brother gets here. He is so awesome around babys though I think he will do fine. I know he is going to be a good big brother and I can’t wait to see the two of them together. Deagan has big plans in store for the two of them… they are going to ride four-wheelers, ride bikes really fast through the muddy water and play play-doh. I have a feeling Dev and I are going to have our hands full with the two of them!

{2008} a year in review

2008 was a good year for us. I cannot believe it is already over, time is flying these days. We made a lot of big accomplishments. We bought our first house in April, which we absolutely love. We have already made some great memories here and are looking forward to lots more. It is a small house but it is perfect for our small family... there are still some improvements to be made but we are making them slowly. We are very proud of our first home. Devin also got his apprenticeship this year and I couldn't be more proud of him. He has worked so hard and is a great provider for our family. I am so very grateful for the job that he has, especially during scary times like these. We also learned that we would be expecting another baby boy in February and we cannot wait for him to be here! February is coming quick, but we are couldn't be more excited. I still cannot imagine having two little boys, it is going to be exhausting but so much fun. Dev and I are ready... ready as we can be anyway! It was a great year and we did some really exciting things, there were a few things we didn't get done that we really wanted to so hopefully we can get them done this year! We hope you all have a fantastic New Year...and we love you!

Bye Bye Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year. We went up to Snowflake Tuesday night and stayed until Sunday. The drive up was beautiful, there was snow almost the whole way.

Christmas Eve night we did things at Grandma and Grandad's like we do every year and then headed over to Dev's parents to open things there. Deagan was extremely spoiled, as he is every year for Christmas being the first and only grandchild! Dev and I also did pretty dang good this year. He surprised me and got me a DYSON! A pink dyson even! I was so shocked, I did not see it coming. I also got a super nice carpet cleaner from Mike and Melissa and tons of other stuff. I actually was able to surprise Dev this year with everything I got him, that never happens... he always figures it out one way or another, so that was nice.

We did things Christmas day with my mom and my little brother. We opened presents and then she cooked us a DELICIOUS dinner. Dev got Rock Band II from my mom and I, so we played that for awhile... funnest game ever! I was only brave enough to play the guitar, but I am going to practice up on my drumming and singing skills while Dev is at work so I can blow him away! Haha. So, my brother and I took turns playing the guitar, Dev rocked on the drums and my mom sang. Fun night. We also got Grandma Sherry to play the drums at our adult dinner Friday night, it was so funny. I wish I had pics.

So, Christmas went just as fast as it came... just like it always does. It was great spending time with everyone, eating tons of yummy food and playing lots of cards! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
