Catching Up...

It has been super crazy around here lately I have not had time to keep our blog updated. Here are a few things that have been going on with us lately... I will try not to miss anything.

We were going to Snowflake for Easter and Dev took that Friday off so Thursday we drove up after he got home from work. When we got there it was already getting late so we went and said hello to Melissa and the boys and then headed to my mom's to get some sleep.

The next day we went and watched Dane play baseball. They played Holbrook, or beat Holbrook rather :) It was a really good game and I am glad that we were able to come and watch him. Deagan thought it was pretty exciting to sit and watch his Uncle Dane playing baseball. He sat on Josh's lap in the truck most of the time pretending to drive... his favorite thing in the world.

Saturday my Mom and I took Deagan to see Horton Hears A Who. Deagan had never been to the movies before so we weren't sure what we were in for. He was amazed by everything at first and just sat there staring. After awhile he was more comfortable and thorougly enjoyed his M&M cookies and White Cherry Icee. He did really good, better than we thought he would. My mom and I enjoyed ourselves also... it was a pretty cute movie. Thanks Mom for taking us! After the movie Dev and I took Deagan over to Grandma and Grandad's. Some of the grandkids were there coloring eggs.

Dev and Josh had to join in on the fun of course :)

Tanner and Brooklin hard at work.

All of the eggs turned out really cute, everyone did a good job. And where was Deagan while all this was going on... well since eggs don't have wheels he was not at all interested. He was on the ground driving his truck around, fine and content. Silly kid.

After we colored eggs and had a bite to eat we had an Easter egg hunt for the younger kids. Deagan was all for this idea. Dev let him know there might be candy or money in the eggs. It was so fun to watch him run around and look for these eggs, he got so excited whenever he found one. He would chuck it at the ground to break it open and see what was inside. It was pretty entertaining.

Easter morning Deagan sat up in bed and said, "I want my Easter." Dev and I laughed and took him out in the front room to find his Easter basket. I didn't get any pictures though, dangit! I don't know what I was thinking. He got a lot of good stuff, had fun finding more eggs and ate way too much candy. Chocolate bunnies for breakfast is not a good idea. Once a year is okay though. Hopefully next year we will remember to do breakfast and than Easter baskets. We had a great weekend and loved seeing you all. We love you and miss everyone who didn't make it.

My brother came home with us and it has been wonderful having him here to keep Deagan entertained for me. We are in the process of buying a house... again... (hopefully everything works out this time, we've got our fingers crossed!) so things have been crazy this week for me. It has been nice to have a helping hand while Dev is at work. Not what Braz had in mind for Spring Break I am sure. Thanks though, I owe ya one. My mom came down Thursday night and we went to the valley yesterday to get her a new car. She got a Nissan Altima. It is so nice, she loves it. I even got to drive it home :) Thanks mom. They are going back on Sunday and we will be sad to see them go. It is always nice when they come and see us. Deagan loves having them here and will miss them. Him and Braz had a good time together this week.

A day at the park!

Today Cayla and I took the three boys to a park over in Camp Verde. The weather was so nice, besides a slight breeze. I am definitely not missing that Snowflake wind. It has been so nice to not have any wind... I know it will be a little warmer here this summer, but it is a sacrifice I am willing to make. I would take that over wind any day! Anyway, the boys had a really good time. They are loving this warm weather as well. We had a nice little picnic and they all crashed on the way home! It was a successful trip.

Here they are strapped in and ready to go!

Deagan and I getting ready to go down the slide!

Once Deagan discovered the steering wheel, it was all over... he didn't want to do anything else!

A Day In Pictures...

The day for Deagan and I usually starts about 7:30. He wakes up EVERY morning asking for pancakes or apple jacks. We eat breakfast together and get our daily dose of morning cartoons in... this morning he wanted to watch "Boo's Coos"(Blue's Clues). He has been a big fan of that one lately.

After we had breakfast, I got a little housework done and was getting ready to get Deagan dressed... he had other plans... he managed to pull my makeup case off the counter and decided he needed a little mascara, here is his handy work...

So, this morning he got a bath. I usually give him one right before bed but he loves baths so he didn't mind one bit, just as long as he has plenty of trucks to play with he is fine and content. He would stay in there all day if I would let him.

After we got him dressed he brushed his teeth. This is probably his favorite part of our morning routine. He feels like such a big boy when he brushes his teeth. I hope he will always enjoy brushing them... not likely though.

Then it's outside for the rest of the morning... him and Zoe have so much fun outside. The weather has been wonderful lately so it has been nice to just turn them lose instead of keeping them inside all day. Deagan loves to be outside... and I love to let him play outside. He plays hard, gets tired and takes good naps :)

Lunchtime! Yummy "cheese" and "appy juice" at his request...

And for MY favorite time of day... naptime! My time to really get some work done. Haha. This used to happen several times a day, then we were down to two, now we are down to one and it keeps getting shorter and shorter as the months pass by.

After about an hour and a half long nap he is up and going again! By the time Daddy got home we managed to spill one box of Kix cereal, sit in the corner for two minutes, watch the entire Cars movie, put together four puzzles and walk to check the mail.

Then Daddy is home :) Deagan always gets so excited when he hears the doorbell ring... he rushes to the door yelling, "Daddy's home, Daddy's home!"

When Dev gets home Deagan is pretty attached to him for the rest of the night... they wrestled and played a little Guitar Hero and then it was dinner time. After dinner we just spent time together as a family... 3 Gogurts and 1 more bath later, he's out! In the morning we will wake up and do it all over again!

I cherish all the time I get to spend with Deagan, I know someday it will be cut short and I am glad I will have these wonderful memories to look back on. I love to watch him grow and learn new things everyday... it is amazing. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I love my boys very much.

Where did he get those moves?!

I love the way Deagan dances. It is hilarious. And no, he didn't get his moves from me. Although, I am not sure mine are much better! I think he pulls this whole river dance thing off... haha. I don't know where he picked it up... he loves to dance though, whenever there's music there is Deagan, dancing his little heart out. He rarely lets us get him doing it on video, once he sees the camera he gets shy and stops. We were lucky tonight though, crazy kid! There is never a dull moment when he is around. We love you Deagy!

Easily entertained...

When we first got Zoe Deagan was a little hesitant as to how he was going to like having her around. Which shocked Dev and I, we thought for sure he would be so excited to have a puppy of his own. He loves dogs. I guess it is a different story when she is stealing our attention away from him. He liked her, he was just extremely jealous. He has warmed up to having her around though and they have become really great pals. More than once already I have found them cuddled up in front of the TV sharing crackers or apple jacks... probably not too good for her! Anyway, Dev was messing with her the other night and making her bark... Deagan thought it was so funny! This is how he usually is around dogs, they don't have to do much to entertain him... I don't know what it is but he has been that way since he was really little. They fascinate him.
