A couple of surprises and one good weekend!

On Thursday I decided to go and get my hair TRIMMED since Dev was home and I thought it was a good opportunity. Plus, I needed one so bad. I asked the lady TRIM my hair and fix the layers that had grown out. Everything was going good, people were telling me how good it was going to look when she was done... so of course I was not worried, why would I be? She had done hair for several years, or so she says... I am now questioning this statement. So, she gets done and I look at it and I am horrified... my hair is gone... I literally thought it was a joke... and I am not one to get depressed over my hair, it's only hair... it will grow back but this was so bad... words cannot explain. I wish I would have taken pictures. I went home and put it in a ponytail and it was like that until I got it fixed. I couldn't even look at it. We already had plans to go to the valley for the weekend so I made an appointment with a girl down there. I was hoping she could fix it without losing all my length.

So, we went down Friday night after Dev got home from work. We stayed with Riley which is always so nice. Thanks Riley. When we got there, Dev left to go and get Deagan's birthday present. I have been waiting for three weeks to blog about this! Haha. Isn't it funny how addicting this becomes.

Meet the newest member of our family... ZOE!

Isn't she so sweet? She is so tiny. Deagan loves her so much, he is constantly laughing at her. She loves him too, they make quite a pair. She is always trying to cuddle with him and following him around. He is pretty good with her, but I don't think he realized how tiny and fragile she is. She is very good with him though. She is very calm for a puppy and so sweet. She is 8 weeks old and only about a pound in a half. She will get up to five pounds, but she was the runt of the litter and they dont think she will get very big at all.

My New Look...

So, Saturday was my appointment and I was so scared because I knew the only way to fix it would be to cut it off. She did a really good job though. I have been trying to find the positive in all this. I have always wanted to cut my hair short but have never really had the guts... and there is no way I could have ever convinced Devin to let me cut it like this. So maybe its not a tradgedy after all.

I am still kind of in shock and it still makes me sad when I see pictures of my long hair. But I do like it and I think it would have taken something like this to happen in order for me to ever cut my hair this short. Deagan is still a little unsure of it though, he loves playing with my hair, especially when he is tired... he is a little confused now when he goes to play with it. Things could have been a lot worse, and worse things do happen to people... its just hair it will grow back :)

Last night we went over to our friend Crysta Willis' house for a visit. It had been so long since we had seen her and we wanted to see her new house... she has been it for a year, but to us it is still new, we hadn't seen it yet. All of her family was down because he little brother had high school rodeo down there. It was so nice to see them all and catch up on things. We left way too late though, we were exhausted when we got home. It was a good weekend though. Thanks again Riley for letting us stay with you :)

Valentine's Day

Early Thursday morning Deagan and I got up and made Devin a Valentine's Day breakfast. Deagan had so much fun "helping" me. I let him wake Devin up and we served him breakfast in bed. Dev took the day off so we could spend some time together, which was nice because we were able to get a few things done that we have been needing to, but we havent gotten the chance because he has been working a little late.
Devin and Deagan surpised me with these beautiful roses. They smell so good and are so pretty. Thank you guys. I love them.
Later that night instead of going out, because it is much to hard with Deagan these days... I made Devin dinner. I made pork chops, twice baked potatoes, salad and some rolls... It was pretty dang good too if I do say so myself. For dessert we had Dev's all time favorite... root beer floats! Haha. All in all it was a really good day, besides one tragedy which I will post about later.

Another Week

I don't know what I would do all day if Deagan wasn't here to entertain me and keep me busy by making tons of messes for me to clean up... my days would be boring! That is all I do! Although it can be frustrating at times I am very thankful that I am able to stay home with him and take care of him and the things that need to be done around the house. I love watching him learn new things everyday and I love the time we spend together! I wouldn't have it any other way.

All I have to say is too cute. I could have stopped him, but he was having so much fun... it made the water look really dirty though... needless to say, I need more shaving cream!

I was in the kitchen making dinner and I knew he was up to something because he was being quiet. Dead giveaway! I walked in on a butt naked Deagan with his basket of shoes... throwing them everywhere... crazy kid! He just recently decided that it is so much more to run around with no diaper on and takes it off whenever he gets the chance!

He knows when he is doing something he is not supposed to... he usually gives me a cheesy grin just like that one.

This was so funny! Deagan has always had a thing with shoes... doesn't matter whose they are, he wants to wear them... here he is with a pair of mine on, he had us rolling!

So, aside from all that... Saturday we had the inspection done on the house we are trying to buy. One step closer! Everything went really well and it was nice to go and look at it again... it made me even more excited... our official closing date is March 18th! Yay!

After that we went over to Greg and Cayla's and since it was such a beautiful day we took the boys outside and they had so much fun. Castin has a four-wheeler which Deagan quickly learned is the coolest thing ever, we couldn't get him off once he figured it out... he rode it until the battery went dead. He thought he was so cool, and he did really good... came close to a couple of good wrecks but got lucky. We will have to get him one of his own so they can ride together. The boys also have a little bike with training wheels, they thought it was so fun to drag it up the hill and watch it roll all the way down... silly boys. The weather has been so nice the last few days, it was great to go outside, relax and let the boys go wild. Deagan loves playing with the two of them... I wish I would have remembered my camera.

I guess last weeks excitement was a little too much for Deagan to handle because he got sick... he hasn't been terrible, but he has a fever that keeps coming and going. I hate seeing my little guy sick. Today he was a little better, so hopefully tomorrow he will be back to normal.

Mothers of little boys work from SON up until SON down...

that is so true!

Happenings From Last Week...

Last week was a pretty exciting week for us. As many of you know Deagan sleeps with Devin and I... which is my fault... I admit. I have learned my lesson though and WILL NOT allow the next baby to sleep with us :) It was sweet for awhile, but Deagan has grown up and is now taking up the entire bed! Well... not anymore, as of last week he now sleeps in his own bed. Yay! He had a hard time with it at first... so did i... i hate hearing him cry and just having to ignore him, but I know it is the best thing for him and the only way he will ever learn. Dev had to work out of town for a few days so I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to try it out... Deagan could scream all night and Dev wouldn't lose any sleep. So when the first afternoon nap rolled around I put him in his bed and after about and hour and ten minutes of screaming... SUCCESS! He slept so good too, wore himself out from all the crying. He has been doing much better though... the crying doesnt last quite as long.... ha... we are hoping if we can make it through this week we will be home free! We will see how it goes.

Moving on to what Dev thinks is the most exciting thing that occured last week is our purchase of a Wii. I went to Wal-Mart to do some quick grocery shopping and I just happened to go back to electronics and see that there were three Wiis... after sitting and staring at them for about five minutes trying to decide whether or not to get one I left... got my groceries and went home... I kept on thinking about it so I called Dev and told him and he told me to get back there and get one... so I hurried back to the store, worried that they would be all gone... this was probably fifteen minutes after I had seen them the first time... I raced back to electronics, Deagan thought I was crazy... luckily there was still one left, Dev would have been pretty upset if I came home without one. So, guess what he has been doing all week... haha... it is pretty entertaining to watch him play, Deagan finds it funny as well.

Dev playing baseball...

Deagan thought he was pretty cool when Dev let him try out the Wii... he just laughed everytime he swung the remote.

So... Dev and I have been wanting to buy a house over in Camp Verde which is about 15 mins away from Cottonwood. We've been looking for awhile now and we finally found one we really like... we put in an offer, and on Thursday we found out that the owner actually accepted our offer... so if all goes well we should have a new home pretty soon! We are super excited to have our first home. I know we will make many great memories there... and Greg and Cayla are just around the corner... walking distance! Woo hoo! That makes it that much better. We have went to church with Greg and Cayla and there are a lot of young couples in their ward and in their subdivision so we are excited about that! Hopefully we can make some more friends... Here are a few pics I took from the website...

Here is the front of the house... obviously... The front landscaping is done, but we have to the back ourselves which we would prefer anyway... ha... Dev is so excited to start that project...

And my favorite part... the kitchen! Love it! I am hoping having this big kitchen will inspire me to cook up some mad meals!

I will take some better pictures next time we are there... I am so excited to paint and decorate... Dev thinks I am crazy because I am already thinking of paint colors... maybe I am getting a little carried away, we still have awhile, and something could go wrong between then and now... it is still exciting though, I can't help it!

Friday afternoon Dev's parents and little brother Dane came to visit for the weekend. It was nice to see them, but we keep waiting for the time when they are going to bring Josh with them... we have been here four months now and he is the only one who hasn't been to visit! What is the problem?! Just kiddin... Anyway we took them to Camp Verde and showed them the new house... I think they were impressed... Melissa and I did a little antiquing and then we went home... later that afternoon Riley showed up and she, Mike, Melissa, Dev and I went to dinner while Dane stayed home and watched Deagan. He is such a good babysitter, we got home and Deagan was in his pjs and slippers ready for bed. Thank you so much Dane. We owe ya one! It was nice to have them come and visit again, Deagan loves the company but hates to see everyone go... come back anytime!

The Latest Chit-Chat from Deagan

So... I wish I was smart and knew how to take all these videos and make them into one... but I dont... so you will just have to watch them all, sorry. So, Devin and I wanted to give you all a little taste of how our evenings are with Deagan. It is usually spent in our bed where Dev and Deagan wrestle... he loves to be tickled so of course he gets plenty of it from Devin...We could lay in bed for hours laughing together and listening to Deagan talk... He is so funny, and loves to put on an act... he definitely knows when the camera is on him. Silly kid! He is our life, as you can tell from the ridiculous amount of posts and pictures we have of him. We are so lucky to have been blessed with such a healthy and wonderful little boy, life would not be the same without him! We love you so much Deagan.

Every night before Deagan goes to bed we have to do "Shoe Ol' Nelly" and "This Little Piggy" several times for him, he loves it... So, in this last video Dev wanted to see if Deagan could do it... haha... he did pretty good, you cant hear him very well because he whispered it, but it was so cute.

Fun Weekend!

So, last weekend we drove up to Snowflake... Friday night I went to dinner and a movie with my mom and little brother. We went and saw Cloverfield which wasn't too bad. I wasn't sure what to expect and worried I would get motion sick because I had heard of several people who had. But, I didn't and it was a pretty good movie, dinner was good also. I love going to the movies, and going with them made it that much better. I miss doing stuff like that.

After dinner I hurried to Grandma Sherry's so I wouldn't miss any of the yummy Valentine's dinner she cooked for us girls (Amanda, Jessica, Jolene, Melissa and I). Yes, I ate two dinners... haha... and they were both very delicious, how could I not?! Anyway, the dinner was so nice, I wish I would have got some pictures... the table was set up so beautiful and the food was fantastic, as always! I have never had a bad meal at Grandma and Grandads.

The next morning I woke up early and went back to Grandma Sherry's and had some delicious french toast and we all got started on our craft day! We made three different things and had someone over to talk to us about coupons and saving money... it was so much fun, but we made the biggest mess. Ha. Poor Grandma I am sure she will think twice about volunteering her house for any future craft days. Later that night I had Kam and Sarah's reception to go to, so I left a little early for that. It was a very nice reception and Sarah looked beautful. I am so happy and excited for the two of them...

So all in all I had a really good weekend... and where was Devin and Deagan during all this?! Spending some serious father, son time together. It was good for them and so nice for me to get a little me time. Thank you Devin. You are such a good husband and father... love you.

Here are some pictures of the stuff I made... I didnt finish one project so I don't have a picture of it yet...

It was fun to see the girls and relax and catch up on stuff... I am looking forward to many more craft days :) Thank you for everything Jo... I had a blast.

Messy Room

Last night we had Greg and Cayla over for dinner. We have been to their house several times so we have a lot of catching up to do... two down, six to go... haha it is probably more than that... Cayla is a fantastic cook so I was kind of nervous... it turned out ok though, thanks to Grandma Sherry's yummy meatball recipe :) Thank you. It is so funny when they come over because Castin and Tanner walk in the door and go straight for the toy room, they don't mess around. Haha. Deagan loves having them over to play... they all get along really well, most of the time. We have had a few fights but for the most part they play good together. The playroom is always trashed... toys everywhere... as you can see in the pictures below... but they have a good time and that is all that matters! It has been so nice having them as friends, it definitely makes being away from home a little easier.
